Chinese New Year on Orchard Road

Valentine's Day and the beginning of the Lunar New Year fell almost on the same date this year in Singapore, so while we are walking through the most popular shopping district, we might get confused what is the display really about! Valentine's Day or the Year of the goat??! Well, two in one, I have to say. They made a small garden at the Ion Orchard with goat sculptures which undoubtedly represents the spring festival. Either way, this place always gives you opportunity not only for an unforgettable shopping experience but a good photo shoot with the funny walls and other displays! I have read about an Instagram photo contest, if you submit your photo hashtag #iongraphy, taken at the Ion Orchard and note how many goats you can see in the garden, you may win something. I think this is the last day for participating in the contest...Today evening there will be an event from 5pm, called Chingay Sg50 Night Fiesta , so some parts of the Orchard Road will be closed and given out to the pedestrians.

The best way to get there is by MRT, as most of the buses will not operate during the event. First option to walk from Dhoby Ghaut (North East line) towards Orchard Rd, or take the red line (North South line) to Orchard station

Don't miss to check it out! :)
