On Vesak Day the world commemorates of the Birth, enlightenment and Nirvana of the Buddha. The Sri Lankan community celebrated this auspicious day on 3 May this year, here is the photo diary of the event in my earlier post.
The celebrations started on 18 May at the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple in Chinatown, where various ceremony were made before the actual Vesak Day and anyone could participate in the event of "Bathing the Buddha" as well.
I visited a temporary Vesak exhibition tent near Pasir Ris Mrt, where volunteers helped visitors to understand more about Buddhism and see the Relics of The Buddha, like hair-, blood-, brain relics and different type of Buddha statues.
All were welcome irrespective of religion.
