Chinese New Year is the biggest festival of the year which can be experienced through the typical tourist's eyes or a local's eyes. If you want to escape from the hustle and bustle, plan to spend a spiritual Chinese New Year Eve at the Lian Shan Shuang Lin Monastery!
(It is among the rare occasions when you can visit a Monastery at night)

19-20 February 2016: Chingay parade
April 2016: Thin Gyan and Songkran Festivals:
The month of April will give us a chance to beat the Singaporean heat with the Thai(Songkran) and Burmese(Thin gyan) water festival.
The next festival period starts in May with the annual Vesak festival, Hari Raya Puasa in July followed by Singapore's National Day and the Hungry Ghost(Ullambana) Festival in August, the Mid-Autumn Festival around September and the Deepavali in November. Regardless the tropical climate, Christmas is a huge annual happening at the end of the year in Singapore.
