Hong Kong Trip: Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade, 1881 Heritage, Avenue of Stars, Symphony of Lights

If you are staying at Hotel Panorama at Heart Avenue, Tsim Sha Tsui area is at your doorstep to  discover first. You will find lots of tourist spots nearby, from shopping centres to HK specials.

Shopping centresK11 plaza, I SQUARE shopping centre. You can find Sasa and other drogerie stores at every corner, find out which sells authentic items by an android application.

Nearby restaurants we tried: Caterking Dim Sum at Hau Fook Street, Fairwood Chinese and Western food restaurant.

I love this idea! They do not put ice into the drink!! Easiest way to avoid ice, made of tap water! :)

Fairwood restaurant. The duck was very delicious I had there!

Before our trip I had read several reviews on Hong Kong attractions, and they mention Avenue of Stars (among other places) as a tourist trap. I would not put Avenue of Stars into this category. If we spend only 3 or 4 days in a country, these attractions are on the list of must-see, regardless whether is it a big boom or not. Most people think there is no any interesting in posing with Bruce Lee's bronze statue and walking on the local "heroes" hand prints. Which might be true, but definitely a fun. Who would miss a chance to post himself/herself on Instagramm or Facebook with famous sights of Hong Kong? Not many..By the way walking on the Promenade can give much more than those boring statues. The Skyline of Hong Kong Island is the main reason to head there, preferably at evening times to avoid the heat, and that the famous light show not to be missed either.
(Morning option, my personal favorite: having breakfast at the Starbucks while enjoying the beautiful view hehe)

While walking through the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade, we can find some another important buildings too like the Hong Kong Cultural Centre and Science Museum.
That weekend we visited there we still could catch the Mid-Autumn Festival Lantern display too at the Clock Tower.

We haven't tried but I liked the board of Spagetti House

K11 mall
i Square Shopping Centre

I loved the pink light on the Peninsula Hotel and the Science Centre's building too!

Everybody likes to pose at the Avenue of Stars! Good opportunity for funny photo shoots!!

This cutie pie was the biggest star for me

This is how we do it!!

You can be a director for some moments!

The famous Clock Tower decorated with Mid-Autumn Lanterns:

While we were walking back from the Promenade, discovered the "1881 Heritage" too. It looks like a huge palace or a theater to me. Earlier, till 1996 it was the headquarter of the Hong Kong Marine police. Now this site gives home to shopping centre, exhibition hall and hotel.

Tip: at the Promenade there will be lot of stalls offering instant photo taking services for 20-40HK$. For photo enthusiasts I would recommend to bring their tripod to take their own pictures. We regretted not to bring ours, it would have come so good at the Big Buddha where we refused tons of manipulated pictures they offered for heavy $$$ (this is the real trap I will talk about in another post).
